A Message From Jean
When I came to America I always knew that I wanted to own my own business. So, after many years of hard work, Salon D5 was born.
D5 means Dublin 5, the postal code where I grew up in Dublin, Ireland. We have been open in Santa Monica for 3 years and are going strength to strength. It’s a privilege to serve the Santa Monica community.
The Importance of Education
I was already trained in Ireland as a stylist but when I came to America I decided to go and retrain with one of the hair worlds most renowned masters, Shoichi Mogi, a master hairstylist from Japan.
Jean at Salon D5 is a down to earth business owner and stylist who understand what a customer needs. She pays great attention to detail without taking too much time.
I spent 4 years with Mogi learning and honing my craft. As part of his education team, I assisted at three ISSE hair shows in the Long beach, teaching other stylists from all over America his amazing concepts of body motion and how it applies to cutting hair.
I now apply my 17 years of experience to my clientele, both male and female, helping them achieve the look and style that helps them walk confidently into the world everyday.
Social Responsibility
Salon D5 is about our love of community. We have an promotion whereby we put 10% back into the PTA of our local schools when our clients tell us that their children go to the school.
Our prices reflect the economy that we live in, there are no unreasonable prices on our menu and we give tremendous value for money.
